My Approach to Helping

I believe the best therapy begins with a trusting relationship between therapist & client. With life come challenges and stress that sometimes deplete a person's emotional, mental, spiritual & physical energy. I believe that these are challenges that present unique opportunities to grow & thrive, to become who we are meant to be. There are times when it can be beneficial to have a professional walk alongside you, to give you an unbiased perspective & encourage your personal growth. You'll find me to be a kind, caring, nonjudgmental professional. I feel honored to be invited into another person's life and share his or her journey Fostering and supporting personal growth, dealing with past/current trauma and improving the quality of relationships has been the focus of much of my professional work. I have worked extensively with issues related to adolescent behavioral problems, trauma, abuse, domestic/relationship violence, relationship conflict, parent-child issues. I am strength-based and solution-focused in my approach. My style is collaborative and interactive, tailored to your unique needs. Together we will set goals for therapy and evaluate progress along the way. Therapy can be short or long-term depending on your issues, needs, and attainment of your personal goals. When working with families & couples, I remain objective & unbiased. I value each person's perspective & work with clients to respect & even celebrate their differences. I have found the best solution to relationship difficulties is a "win-win" resolution. I have a great rapport with adolescents and understand the difficulties of growing up in the world today. There are so many influences crowding in on our teens that make this time of life challenging and, often, tumultuous. I genuinely enjoy working with teens, even the really "feisty" ones!

More Info About My Practice

I have Saturday and Sunday hours to accommodate clients who need to schedule appointments on the weekend . I will complete an insurance form at your request for you to submit to your insurance provider. As I ask that you pay for each session at the time the service is rendered, reimbursement will come directly to you. While I do not have a sliding scale fee schedule per se, I am open to discuss with you any circumstances that might preclude your paying the full fee. If for some reason I cannot accommodate you in this regard, I can refer you to other clinicians/agencies that do accept a standard sliding scale fee schedule.
