I strive to maintain a genuine, caring, and welcoming atmosphere for a strong and collaborative counseling relationship to flourish.
I strive to approach clients' troubles through the lens of empathy and understanding from clients' point of experience. I believe the best communication style in my helping profession is to first LISTEN with compassion and without judgment.
I believe that therapy is most helpful when it is an experience and not just talking about thoughts. As a relational psychodynamic therapist, I think there is a lot to be gained from having more insight and clarity into ourselves and the ways we function in the world and our relationships. As a somatically informed therapist, I think building awareness of our bodies and what they are telling us opens up even more avenues for healing, especially when insight doesn't feel like it is enough. I work holistically and from a trauma-informed lens to combine the two in a way that is uniquely right for you and your needs. To this end, I have completed foundational training in Sensorimotor Therapy for trauma, a somatic psychotherapy, as well as a three-year training in Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy, a modality which combines psychoanalytic insight and depth with a focus on our bodies and emotions. The style of therapy I practice is active and collaborative, focusing not only on intellectual insight but also on helping you to have a new, meaningful experience. I believe a good therapy relationship, like any good relationship, allows us to feel seen, heard, and compassionately challenged to grow and create the change we want in our lives.
I have experience and a passion for working with clients through a faith-based lens, including Christian counseling, healing from spiritual trauma, or deconstruction. I also enjoy working with clients living with anxiety, depression, disordered eating, body image, self-esteem struggles, relationship or workplace difficulties, and those walking through grief. I have worked in various settings, from helping students better learn when addressing their emotional needs to providing family reunification services to people who have been formerly incarcerated.

If you’re here, something likely feels off. Maybe you’re exhausted from holding things together, stuck in the same arguments, or feeling disconnected from yourself or the people you love. You might not know exactly what needs to change, but you know something does. I work with individuals and couples who want more than surface-level coping. My approach is honest, steady, and compassionate. Together, we slow things down enough to understand what’s really happening beneath the surface. We look at patterns that keep you stuck, how they formed, and how to respond differently moving forward. Therapy with me is collaborative and active. I’ll listen carefully, ask direct questions when needed, and offer tools that fit your goals and values. I draw from relational and trauma-informed approaches, always shaping the work to you, not forcing you into a formula. You don’t need to have it all figured out to begin. We’ll take this one step at a time, building clarity, trust, and a stronger sense of connection along the way.

I believe in the strength and resiliency of the human spirit and consider it an honor to work with people on a daily basis. My job is to create a safe and nurturing environment so that each individual feels comfortable and supported as they work on their personal goals. Everyone's goals are as different as the individuals themselves, and in order to honor that individuality, my approach is eclectic and personalized to each person. I always encourage and welcome feedback in order to continually ensure that the techniques being used are effective and keep progress moving in a positive direction.
I am a relational and psychodynamic therapist. My aim is to better understand your life experiences and relationships and explore whether they are contributing to or challenging your day-to-day well-being. The relationship we build will be an important part of increasing understanding and creating a place where the healing process can begin. Therapeutic goals vary; however, individual insights can create opportunities for perspective shifts in how we feel about ourselves, our experiences, and our relationships. Throughout this process, many of my clients find symptom relief as they develop a greater capacity to tolerate and regulate challenging emotions. I specialize in working with adolescent and adult males. I have worked extensively with men dealing with anxiety, depression, early trauma, anger management, substance abuse, and grief and loss.
People enter therapy for many different reasons, but often underneath those reasons is a sense of being stuck in a physical, mental, or emotional place they don't want to be in. For relationships, people often feel stuck in negative patterns of interacting with each other or stuck in a place of pain which they blame on the other. I see myself as partnering with my clients to help them get unstuck and reach their goals for themselves or their relationships. I am active in the therapy session by helping people process more deeply what they are going through, offering new perspectives on the situation, and challenging patterns of thought or behavior that may be contributing to what's happening. I do not see people who come into therapy as sick or weak. I think it takes a lot of strength to reach out for help when times are tough. Therefore, I have respect for those who walk into my office, and I try to do everything I can to get them to where they want to be in life.
Therapy is more than talking about what’s wrong, it’s about understanding what you’ve been through, learning how to manage what you’re feeling, and developing the tools to create meaningful change. My approach integrates DBT, somatic-based therapy, EMDR techniques, and CBT to help you address the connection between your thoughts, emotions, body, and relationships. If you struggle with anxiety, emotional overwhelm, trauma, negative self-talk, difficulty setting boundaries, relationship challenges, or feeling stuck in unhealthy patterns, therapy can help you move forward. Through DBT, we work on practical skills for emotional regulation, mindfulness, distress tolerance, and healthier communication so you can respond to difficult situations instead of feeling controlled by your emotions. Through CBT, we identify the negative and unhelpful thought patterns that may contribute to anxiety, self-doubt, shame, or feeling stuck. You’ll learn how to challenge those thoughts and develop healthier, more balanced ways of thinking. With somatic-based therapy, we pay attention to how stress and past experiences show up in your body. Together, we work toward greater awareness, grounding, nervous-system regulation, and a stronger sense of safety within yourself. Using EMDR-informed techniques, we can gently address distressing experiences and emotional triggers while building coping resources and helping you develop a greater sense of control and emotional safety. You deserve a space where you can be understood, not judged. Therapy can help you move from simply surviving to creating a life that feels more balanced, connected, and fulfilling.
