Many new clients tell me that they've spent a lot of time talking about their problems in therapy without much changing in their lives. Talking about your problems is important, but talk alone tends to stay at the level of your conscious awareness. It's essential for therapy to explore the source of your problems, which lies just beneath your conscious awareness.
Experiential therapy uses exercises and experiments to gently activate and study the limiting beliefs and patterns behind your behavior. Many clients are scared of what they might find but it's often a big relief to see exactly what's been causing the problem. Once we're clear on the beliefs generating the challenges you're facing, we use precise methods for shifting those beliefs based on neuroscience research.
We've all experienced how just talking about your problems over and over can feel tedious and frustrating, but I find this way of working enlivening; it's full of the excitement of new discoveries. As the blocks that have been holding you back begin to shift, it's so energizing to feel your potential freeing up and to be more in touch with who you are and what you want.

What I Love about Being a Therapist
We all know the experience of being stuck in our lives and feeling alone in that struggle. I love helping people get clear on what's holding them back, watching them change in both small and big ways and seeing them come more fully into themselves and their lives. I know for myself, it took many years to find the things that really worked and brought lasting change in my life. I love being able to share these discoveries with my clients and make the way a little bit easier for them.
How Psychotherapy Can Help
Often we feel bad about ourselves for not having solved our problems or not being able to make important decisions on our own. But when you're up against something big in you're life you shouldn't have to work it out alone. Sorting through these kinds of things takes time, focus and repeated exploration that most of us find difficult to do on our own. Therapists can give you the kind of support you need to stay with the process when it gets difficult and to celebrate the many changes along the way.
