My approach in therapy is collaborative, supportive, and goal oriented.
I am a warm, straightforward therapist focused on providing effective treatment. I work to connect genuinely with each of my patients because I believe the first component of effective treatment is the formation of a trusting, nonjudgmental therapeutic relationship. With this relationship as the foundation, we can then collaboratively determine your goals and take measurable steps toward achieving the change you want in your life.
I believe that a successful path to achieving growth and change in therapy starts with feeling a comfortable and collaborative connection to your therapist. I strive to help my patients establish goals and feel a sense of progress in therapy. I meet my patients where they are emotionally and help guide them in the direction they hope to be. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, and Interpersonal Therapy in my practice. I also use CBT-I for insomnia as well as EMDR for trauma work. I provide a relaxed, judgement-free environment. In today's world, the level of anxiety and depression has been on the rise, especially in the younger generations. I strive to remove the stigma of mental health treatment for my patients. I also utilize teletherapy to assist patients who cannot get to the office regularly. My practice also provides parent training to assist parents with their child's symptoms or diagnosis. I conduct neuropsychological, psychoeducational, and psychological evaluations to examine symptoms, diagnose, and provide thorough and detailed recommendations. I work with children ages 6-12, adolescents ages 13-17 and adults ages 18 and up.
Dr. Fuller aims to minimize the frequency and intensity of the client's suffering and emotional pain, as well as self-defeating patterns, and he helps the client to develop skills leading to life satisfaction and goal achievement. In doing this, Dr. Fuller places a strong emphasis on cognitive-behavioral theory (CBT) and associated techniques. Dr. Fuller tailors these and other techniques to the needs of the individual. This approach helps clients successfully overcome present issues, whether they are long-standing (chronic) or critical (acute) issues. Scientifically-based methods are highlighted, and when there are no empirically supported treatments, reliance on theory and clinical judgment is utilized to provide clients with comprehensive and customized treatment of his or her particular conditions. He emphasizes the present, while helping clients to understand how relationships and historical events may still be affecting their feelings, thoughts, and behaviors today. Active methods of dealing with the here-and-now are stressed. Clients rapidly learn behavioral and cognitive skills that allow them to effectively deal with circumstances in their life.

My name is Lucy, and I’m a Gestalt therapist and Level 1 internal family systems (IFS) therapist practicing in New York and Washington. My practice is open to individuals, couples, and non-monogamous and poly relationships. I’m an LGBTQIA+ affirming, trauma-informed, and experientially oriented therapist, and I support clients of all genders, sexualities, bodies, and racial and cultural identities. I specialize in supporting clients who want to address attention-deficit hyperactivity (ADHD) and its impacts on daily living and relationships, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, emotional and nervous system dysregulation, trauma, religious trauma, grief and loss, attachment wounds, life and relational transitions, and gender-affirming care and sexuality exploration. I utilize a non-pathologizing model, treating your lived experience with compassion and an understanding of systemic impacts in order to build internal ease. I’m currently 100% virtual and use telehealth to support our work together. I’m a firm believer that we all deserve a place to feel loved, supported, acknowledged, fought for, , above all, celebrated. We have an incredible and powerful ability to learn, heal, grow, and thrive when given a chance, or when we give ourselves permission to acknowledge our own fears, patterns, and shame, and then take a leap to move through them toward healing. My approach recognizes internal challenges as well as the world’s impact on you, and I meet you where you’re at with compassion, acceptance, care, mindfulness, and a bit of humor. We are products of our environment, our families, and our ancestral history, and within the therapeutic space, we can support the past, recognize its effect in the present, , with awareness, support changes for the future.
If life feels overwhelming, you’re questioning aspects of your identity, or you’re ready to focus on your healing, therapy can offer a space to pause and reflect. In our work together, I aim to create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where you can explore your experiences, gain insight into recurring patterns, and consider new ways of understanding yourself and your relationships. We’ll also acknowledge how larger systems and everyday contexts influence how you move through the world. Choosing a therapist is a personal and meaningful decision. If this approach feels aligned with what you’re looking for, I invite you to reach out to schedule a free 15-minute video consultation. I’d be glad to connect and see if we’re a good fit.
Through various experiences working with teens, adults, and seniors I was able to utilize integrative practice methods, including spirituality, CBT, and life experience to best help another individual redevelop hisher idea of life's journey.
