First and foremost, I approach therapy with respect for the clients. This means that I focus on each person, couple or family's goals and how we can best meet them. I do not believe that one size fits all -- my work is responsive to the needs, interests and life stage of each client. I have extensive training in family and couples therapy, as well as training in Jungian analysis and contemplative psychology, all of which create a unique blend of influences in my therapeutic practice.
Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist
As with most relationships, a choice in therapist is highly personal. What works for one person may not work for another. And a therapist can have all right the training and credentials, but if you do not have a basic feeling of trust and connection, the therapy will suffer. In addition to "rightness of fit", I believe that solid training and supervision are critical as they provide a foundation to work from.
