Relationships! Parents, partners, grandparents, friends, siblings, children, co-workers, colleagues, mentors, etc. impact us in so many ways. Many people live with patterns of interacting due to change, excitement, disappoint and stress from these relationships. Sometimes we push people away, sometimes we pull them closer and sometimes we feel stuck. In therapy, we will develop an authentic and trustworthy relationship. From this foundation between therapist and client (or co-travelers) awareness of these patterns and progress toward change can develop. I look forward to meeting you and hope you will allow me journey through this territory with you.

More Info About My Practice
Therapy is meant for anyone and everyone. I continually seek my own therapy and believe therapy, good therapy, can make positive changes in people, communities, and the world.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
I am especially skilled at working with individuals who feel stuck or lost in their life.
Specifically, issues of sexuality can bring about this sense of confusion and sadness due to people feeling shame about who they are and how they were made.
I am also very experienced in working with people who have lost someone or something in their life such as a family member, friend, job, home, pet, etc.
Had a Negative Therapy Experience?
As a college instructor/adjunct faculty, I often ask my students if they've been to therapy. I then ask how their experience has been. For those that had bad experiences, they often report not having a positive relationship with their therapist.
For this reason, I encourage them and YOU advocate for yourself. Do you have positive feelings toward your therapist and do they appear to have YOUR best interest in mind? Do they seem competent yet engaged and present with you? If not, I encourage you to advocate for yourself and look for a better fit. And, sometimes this step can be therapeutic in its own right!
