My Approach to Helping
Do you struggle with difficult emotions? Do you need someone to talk to about a painful loss or experience? It can be hard to keep your emotional balance in a busy world that has little room for sadness, or even distraction. Do you need practical tools to help you maintain stability? I can help you gain insight and empathic understanding of your situation, establish a sense of safety, talk about your experience, and look to the future.
I offer trauma-informed psychotherapy that focuses on helping you find stability, process your experience and develop resilience. I am trained in a number of evidence-based practices for the treatment of anxiety, depression, and traumatic stress reactions. I also work with contextual mapping tools, such as genograms, “lifelines,” and family trees.
It can be hard to find the time and space—as well as courage—to talk through difficult personal issues, but the reward of doing so can be significant. My promise to you is that I will listen with respectful attention, without judgment but with compassion. My office provides a peaceful, private setting, where together we can find your path forward.
