My Approach to Helping

Throughout our lives, we receive messages from our family, our friends, the media, and society about who we are meant to be. This could make you feel like you don’t fit in or something is intrinsically wrong with you, especially if you grew up around abuse, addiction, or general family dysfunction.

On the road to personal growth, deconstructing those assumptions and writing your own unique narrative can build self compassion and understanding. I work with clients to discover new insights about themselves so they can move away from self criticism and toward self acceptance.

My approach is rooted in psychodynamic therapy, which emphasizes how our pasts impact our present so that we can choose new ways of thinking, behaving, and being. Through other modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Gestalt Therapy, I create a space for clients to foster a deeper connection with themselves and the world around them.

More Info About My Practice

Outside of therapy, I have a 12-year-old cat who I love spending time with. I also enjoy reading fiction, cooking new pescetarian recipes, and weightlifting.

I’m a big believer in the mind-body connection. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from weightlifting, it’s that you can always get better, stronger, and find ways to grow. This is true for both mental and physical health.

Groups I Work With

My ideal clients are young women struggling with relationships, self esteem, and body image. If they grew up in a manipulative, abusive, or enmeshed environment, they might find themselves taking on perfectionistic or caretaking behaviors. They might also be experiencing a “quarter life crisis,” exploring a new career path, or unpacking how family dynamics have impacted them.

My vision is for clients to put themselves first, live by their values, and understand their needs. In our work together, we’ll get clear on how your past has influenced your present so you can build a life that aligns with what’s most important to you.
