I hold a Master of Science from Columbia University and Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Berkeley. It was my own life experience that led me to become a psychotherapist. Perhaps because of this my patients often report feeling understood in a way they'd not expected. I believe you'll find I bring warmth, understanding, humor and maturity to our every session. I see each patient as a unique individual with a complex biological and psychological history, yet one whose life is built upon a myriad of relationships. I believe that above all else, we are social beings and seek connection to others; all emotional healing occurs within the context of relationships – whether in the therapeutic relationship in which we will engage, your intimate partner relationship, within your family, in enduring friendships or, ideally, in combination of each of these. It’s my belief that our emotions, mood, ability to genuinely connect with others and our sense of connection with our physical body are the result of many factors. We are the sum total of countless memories and sensations (some remembered, others suppressed), how we learned as children to attach emotionally to those with whom we were closest, and the interplay of these as they interact with our genetic predispositions. In your treatment, I will utilize a blend of the most transformative therapies I have studied over the years that speak to this complex interface of factors. Together let's find a path to a healthier life, one guided by wisdom gained from a better understanding of our past, as we pursue a future with a greater sense of well-being.

My experience includes intensive work with anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, couples therapy and bereavement. I've worked on-staff as a psychotherapist at Stony Brook Hospital, The Dunes East Hampton and Quannacut Addiction Rehab Eastern Long Island, and in private practice for well over a decade. I do not accept insurance, but my Office Manager will, if requested, provide a monthly receipt which you can submit to your carrier. The receipt provides all necessary information: licensure numbers, diagnoses, and session dates that the carrier needs to determine your percentage of reimbursement after you've met your deductible. Our office has no way of knowing what amount, if any, your carrier will cover. Nor can we submit this information directly to your insurer, as we do not have the office staff required to handle the associated paperwork. I offer in-person appointments & online sessions in both Bridgehampton & Manhattan.
