I am a good listener and always give a person's goals priority. I have a gentle touch and have been known to share a laugh on occasion. I have a strength-based approach, allowing an individual to feel competent and in control. I have provided therapeutic support to children, teens, young adults, families, and couples for 29 years.

For your child with educational, social-emotional, or behavioral issues, I will provide a "second set of eyes" to help us understand what your child is experiencing and the best possible solutions. I provide play therapy and sand play for young children. I can help you to become the parent you would like to be. My training and experience allows me to identify and support persons with childhood developmental issues like ADHD, Aspergers Disorder, and high-functioning autism, with an emphasis on improving a person's social and communication skills.

As an adult, you may want to enjoy your relationships, manage your family responsibilities, and improve your effectiveness at work. I will help you identify mental health issues or distractions that interfere with your success. You may have challenges like life-career balance, blended families, or families who would like to communicate better. I provide Marriage and Couples Therapy, including pre-marital counseling. I diagnose and provide support for mental health conditions such as Depression, Anxiety, and Bipolar.

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

Therapists and their clients often talk of being a "good match", being "in sync with", "getting" the other, or being "in tune". They are phrases that describe the quality of the relationship between you and your therapist. Studies show that a good client-therapist alliance is a positive indicator of having a successful therapeutic outcome. So if you have concerns about whether the therapist is a "good match" after a few sessions, definitely address this with your therapist.
