I work to foster an environment of open communication, where clients feel safe to express knowing they won't be judged or their concerns disregarded.
I work to foster an environment of open communication, where clients feel safe to express knowing they won't be judged or their concerns disregarded.
I believe therapy should be a safe place where a person can explore personal issues and find solutions that will last a lifetime. I provide listening, validation, feedback, intervention, and collaboration to help clients to achieve their goals
Hi there. Glad you stopped by! I really love the work that I do, and I’m very lucky to get to meet people in moments of vulnerability. Over the years, I’ve worked with people going through depression, anxiety, trauma, as well as grief and loss. My particular niche is working alongside men individually, who often carry a significant internal burden that they may rarely talk about, or even have words for. Therapy can provide a space to put some of that weight down, make sense of it, and learn how to express what is really going on beneath the surface. I also very much enjoy working with couples. Having myself been married since 2015, my own relationship has taught me a great deal about communication, vulnerability, conflict, and the work it takes to build a lasting relationship. Those experiences led me to embrace the Gottman Method, a therapeutic orientation that focuses heavily on intentionality.
I take a holistic approach that incorporates mind, body, and spirit. I believe it's important to integrate life meaning into counseling. I respect all faith backgrounds (including none), work within personal belief frameworks, and have appreciation for alternative paths as well as mainstream religions. I'll work with you to set goals and the proper pacing of therapy. Therapy is a collaboration, as ultimately the power to change rests within you. I emphasize unconditional positive regard, respect, a safe and caring therapeutic relationship, individual strengths, and taking control over choices.
Are you stuck in a painful relationship? Are you suffering from anxiety? Or do you feel your life isn't going the way you want it to? With cognitive behavorial therapy you can learn to have more meaningful relationships, manage anxiety and enjoy a more fullfillng life. I use a psychoeducational format in which I teach you skills to become your own best emotional coach. I will help you learn to understand and feel better about yourself, better about your life. With this self-awareness and skills developed in therapy you will be able to implement healthier behaviors and realize more positive ways of living.
I like to describe my therapeutic style as eclectic. I pull from many different modalities to find what works best for each individual client. I believe that nothing in life is one size fits all and therapy is no different. Each individual needs something different when they engage in therapy and I strive to help my clients based on their individual needs. I like to take time to get to know my patients at to work collaboratively with them to create goals that make sense for their lives and needs. I primarily work with adolescents, teens, and young adults. I love working with these age groups because there is so much change happening during this time in someone's life. I am a fairly casual person and (when appropriate) like to use humor to connect and engage. I also am a bit of a nerd and have at least a basic to moderate understanding of many of the things that the younger generations enjoy (video games, TikTok, memes, movies, tv, etc.). I love to use this to connect with my clients and to allow them to feel seen.
Feeling overwhelmed by life? Stress feels unmanageable, relationships are strained, and moving forward seems impossible. The constant weight of overwhelm can leave you physically, emotionally, and mentally exhausted. You long to make peace with a painful past but feel stuck. Unmanaged stress affects every aspect of your life—work, health, and relationships. You recognize the need for change, and starting therapy is a courageous, proactive step toward well-being. I'm here to provide a compassionate, validating space where your thoughts and feelings are heard. Together, we'll work toward healing and a more balanced, fulfilling life. I help individuals and couples navigate emotional regulation, stress, and relationship challenges through evidence-based methods like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and somatic therapy. Specializing in mood conditions, trauma, and attachment, I focus on fostering resilience and balance. Using biofeedback, I strengthen the mind-body connection to support lasting healing. Life’s challenges can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to face them alone. Whether you’re seeking emotional balance, healing from past wounds, or strengthening your relationships, I’m here to support you. Together, we’ll create a compassionate, non-judgmental space to explore your goals and build the life you deserve. Reach out—I’m ready to help.
My work combines my personal knowledge and experiences of the special challenges and gifts that define the creative experience with insight work and mindfulness-based psychotherapy. I've worked with writers, musicians, dancers, painters, computer programmers, tattoo artists, and more, to help them work through creative issues, relationship problems, anxiety, and many other concerns. In my experience, people who have spent their lives developing their creativity have a unique skillset which is often overlooked as a place from which to draw strength and guidance in building relationships, coping with stress, and making life decisions. I tend to focus on strengths: you might be surprised at what you already know. You can read more about my work with creative people at my external site, linked at left.
You may be used to showing up for everyone else while feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of what you need. I offer a space where you can speak openly, feel heard, and begin making sense of what you are experiencing. My approach is warm, collaborative, and practical. I work with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, attention-deficit hyperactivity (ADHD), grief, relationship challenges, and life transitions. I have a particular interest in supporting women of color as they work through burnout, family expectations, identity, and the pressure to remain strong. Together, we will explore how your experiences, thoughts, and relationships influence your daily life. I draw from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and emotional regulation skills, tailoring our work to your goals and needs. We may focus on strengthening boundaries, improving communication, understanding emotional patterns, or finding manageable ways to cope. I value your perspective and welcome honest feedback about what is helping and what needs to change. You do not need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. We can begin with what feels most important to you and move at a pace that supports both trust and growth.
I believe in the strength and resiliency of the human spirit and consider it an honor to work with people on a daily basis. My job is to create a safe and nurturing environment so that each individual feels comfortable and supported as they work on their personal goals. Everyone's goals are as different as the individuals themselves, and in order to honor that individuality, my approach is eclectic and personalized to each person. I always encourage and welcome feedback in order to continually ensure that the techniques being used are effective and keep progress moving in a positive direction.
Typically I work with clients who have unresolved trauma and is still stuck in problematic behavioral patterns. They have often done some "talk therapy" in the past but didn’t really find it that helpful. I use more experiential methods to help you make lasting changes that improve your quality of life, not just provide stabilization. I’ve found that talk therapy can be one of the slowest ways to do therapy, and that if you ignore sensory input from the body, then you’re only doing therapy from the neck up. Whether you’re facing new challenges or struggling with ongoing circumstances, you may be feeling overwhelmed, hopeless, helpless, or anxious. You may also have slipped back into unhealthy patterns of behavior that you worked hard to change. I take a collaborative approach to therapy, and I’ll tell you up front that I don’t have a crystal ball or magic wand! I believe that we each have a unique journey, and while I do have education and training as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Maryland, I haven’t lived your life, and I’m not an expert on YOU.
I believe therapy works best when it feels like a safe and genuine conversation. My role is to listen closely, help you feel understood, and work with you to uncover patterns that may be holding you back. I draw on both psychotherapy and psychiatry, so we can address the whole picture—your thoughts, emotions, relationships, and, when helpful, medication support. I value collaboration and tailor treatment to each person’s unique story and goals. My hope is that our work together not only eases current struggles but also helps you grow in ways that feel meaningful and lasting.
