My Approach to Helping
Social connection is a core human need. Despite their importance, however, interpersonal relationships are difficult! It may be hard to form relationships because of a fear of being judged by others or anxiety about meeting new people, your current relationships could be characterized by differences and conflict, you may feel like an outsider in your family or group of friends, or you may be experiencing a general lack of fulfillment in relationships. Regardless of the specifics, experiencing difficulty in relationships can be painful. Moreover, a lack of feeling connected to others could also contribute to other physical and psychological health problems, such as depression.
The good news is that it can get better. We can work together to help you develop a better understanding of your interpersonal concerns. After determining the root of the problem, I can assist you with learning skills to help you better form relationships, maintain relationships, and feel more fulfilled in your relationships. There are many potential strategies for working on relationships, and we can decide which approach may be best for you. As your relationships improve, you are likely to start feeling better, and you may even notice improvement in mental health symptoms.
