I work with clients to co-create an atmosphere of trust, openness, and honesty. One of the fundamental tasks of therapy is to develop the type of environment in which the client is able to share those vulnerable parts of him/herself that are typically guarded or not exposed, for fear of rejection or experience of shame, and in doing so, experience acceptance. Further, this type of environment provides the opportunity for clients to experiment within the safety of the therapeutic relationship; clients are able to discover more adaptive and healthy behaviors and new ways of being "in a relationship" with others.
