As an experienced psychologist, I have learned to keep your therapy session focused on what you need to feel better. To that end, psych theories need to fit you and the situation. A unique blend of theories and a dash of humor, to keep things in perspective, is my typical approach to therapy. After getting a general background, therapy can be seen as have two branches. In one, we will focus the time in sessions to develop a better understanding of the nature and roots of any problems that you are experiencing. Sometimes there are specific techniques that can be learned and practiced in sessions. The other branch consists of developing practical ways of better coping with life outside of the therapy sessions. In this area, you may get practical suggestions to help keep the process of healing continue throughout the week.

More Info About My Practice
As implied by the name of our practice, The Personal Development Group, I am interested in the promoting personal evolution; encouraging others to become better people. Not incidentally, this also helps me in the same pursuit. I have food that, frequently, the solution to a personal problem and becoming a better person go hand-in-hand. I hope the when you complete your therapy, you have a better understanding of yourself, others, and the world in which we live.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
Since the begin of my training as a psychologist, I have sought ways to better help those who have experienced trauma. This includes the experience of abuse, military combat, first responder duties (police, fire, ambulance, and medical), accidents, and other traumas. In this area of my practice, I employ EMDR and other techniques to assist in re-solving and redefining what that trauma means in the context of a larger life experience. As a result I have leaned to better understand the impact of all types of emotional experience under a wide range of difficult situations.
