Highland is a town in Lake County, Indiana. It spans an area of seven square miles. There was a 5% decrease in the Highland population between 2010 and 2017. About 22,600 people currently live in the town.

Mental Health in Highland

Substance abuse is a growing concern in Lake County. Between 2012 and 2017, the number of overdose deaths in the county more than tripled. The median age of individuals who died from a drug overdose in 2017 was 39 years old. About twice as many men as women died from an overdose in that year.
