Mental Health in Highland

Substance abuse is a growing concern in Lake County. Between 2012 and 2017, the number of overdose deaths in the county more than tripled. The median age of individuals who died from a drug overdose in 2017 was 39 years old. About twice as many men as women died from an overdose in that year.
