My Approach to Helping
I know that even the idea of therapy can be intimidating. Taking the time to interrogate our thoughts, feelings, behaviors and relationships in order to improve the quality of our lives is a process requiring personal bravery and commitment. It is this bravery and commitment that I strive to honor by creating a therapy space that allows you to be your whole, authentic self without the fear of judgement or stigma. Doing so requires an understanding that every individual seeking therapeutic services is unique and valuable. You are the expert on your own life. I believe that the ability to be heard, seen, and accepted fully is an integral part of long-term healing and change.
Whether you are experiencing anxiety and depression, grappling with a life transition, or are open to exploring your past and its relationship to your present, I will collaborate with you to identify specific goals and guide the therapy space in the direction that best supports your needs.
This could include therapies such as trauma-informed cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness exercises, or other evidence-based approaches depending on our mutual assessment of your needs. While I have worked with a varied group of clients, I possess extensive experience working with adolescents, children, and families having worked in several NYC schools in social work capacities as well as an AmeriCorps educator. I look forward to serving as a source of support on your journey towards wherever it is you want to go.
