Getting Unstuck and Finding New Ground!

Dr. Michael Picucci specializes in trauma, addiction, anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief, intimacy and sexual challenges, specific challenges of the LGBT community, Somatic Experiencing, somatic therapy, family challenges and more.

He also specializes in online therapy and facilitating transformative healing experiences with clients at a distance. Michael has worked with hundreds of clients via Skype and phone in the over 13 years that he's been providing the option of online therapy. Michael's holistic approach is particularly well suited for the format and is a lifeline for those who cannot visit him in his New York offices.

Michael also possesses a specific specialty when it comes to supporting resolution for the challenges gay men and the greater LGBT community face. To date, about 50% of his client base are from the LGBT community with the other 50% comprised of heterosexual or otherwise identified people.

Michael is a holistic psychologist who brings over 30 years of investigation and experience to his private practice.

He created Focalizing as a holistic technology to guide a natural path to healing and transformation. The technology's inspiration comes from his decades of experience with many traditions of somatic therapy and energy psychologies. Michael has supported transformation in the lives of thousands of clients with his unique no-shame, no-blame approach to healing. Google the 'Focalizing Institute' for my teaching of Focalizing Certification course.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

It's important to know that I am from a blue-collar family, mostly raised on Long Island, NY. At 4 years old, when my parents divorced, my two brothers and I were uprooted several times with relatives, either together and separately, and then we were sent to live in a boarding home. My childhood was one of feeling lost and on my own most of the time. I grew up feeling like I did not belong.

By my late teens, I began to recognize that I had formidable survival skills. Then throughout adulthood, despite being culturally successful, life and its challenges kept pushing me to the edge only to end up feeling lost again. I have been diagnosed and survived several life-threatening illnesses, endured countless losses and deaths of loved ones and yet always impelled and able to rise up and find myself anew.

Paradoxically, my life today is beyond my wildest imaginings. Call it magic or blessings; sharing what I?ve learned on the road of life is my primary life purpose and I am privileged to pass on what I know. I am affirmed daily by observing clients discover their Source Energy (their true nature), and by assisting them in letting it lead them out of turmoil and on to a truer path of contentment, fulfillment and realization.

As that lost kid, never could I have imagined being honored internationally, nationally, and locally for my research and fieldwork. Never could I imagine that I would write half-dozen books and numerous articles on healing as I learned more each year. Never in a million years could I have imagined this!

Humble thanks to the Focalizing Institute, which has supported my work and research for so many years. I am eternally grateful.
