My Approach to Helping

Welcome! My name is Dr. Kim Zimmerman, PsyD (she her) and I’m a licensed clinical psychologist offering online psychotherapy, based out of Austin, Texas. While finding a new therapist can be daunting, I hope this page can give you the information and encouragement you need as you take this important next step.

My passion as a therapist lies in providing a safe, collaborative, and authentic space for you to 1) Better understand yourself and your goals 2) Determine what is working for you and what may not be 3) And feel emboldened to approach life in new and meaningful ways. It is my hope that our time together will help you to release yourself from patterns that have left you feeling stuck, and instead, find the space and freedom to explore what’s most important to you.

Individuals I work with typically want relief from:
1. Overwhelming feelings of insecurity, shame, or anger
2. Anxiety, over-analyzing, or irritability
3. Life stress related to being a high-achieving working professional or student
4. Relationship, marital, or family difficulties
5. Difficulties processing grief, loss, existential concerns, or traumatic memories
6. Women’s wellness, particularly related to perinatal and postpartum mental health
7. And chronic illness, pain, or sleep disturbances

As a culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist, I am committed to developing an individualized treatment plan that is tailored to your needs. If you think you might be interested in learning more, asking questions, or starting therapy together, feel free to email, call, or visit my website. I look forward to talking with you!
