Round Rock is a city in Williamson County, Texas. It has a land area of 34 square miles. Round Rock is considered one of the safest American cities with a population of 100,000 or more.

Round Rock has 121,000 inhabitants. The population increased by 21% between 2010 and 2016. It is one of the fastest growing cities in the nation. 

Foreign-born people make up 14% of the Round Rock population. The ethnic composition of the population is 52% white, 30% Hispanic, 10% black, and 6% Asian. Twenty-eight percent of residents speak a foreign language at home. Round Rock is home to 21,000 Spanish speakers and 1,100 Vietnamese speakers.

The median household income in Round Rock is $74,100. Around 38% of adults over age 25 have a bachelor’s degree. Ten percent of residents live below the poverty line.

Mental Health in Round Rock

From 2009 to 2015, Williamson County ranked among the top three healthiest counties in Texas. The county is working with the city of Round Rock to provide mental health services to residents. Roughly 13% of people in Round Rock do not have medical insurance.

In 2018, city officials in Round Rock passed a resolution to allow mobile outreach teams (MOTs) from Williamson County to use Round Rock fire stations when making visits in the area.
