My Approach to Helping
As a marriage and family therapist, I consider people’s contexts, or systems, from a smaller scale, such as family, friends, and intimate relationships, to a larger scale (sociocultural aspects) and how these factors intersect and influence your life. Even though I am specially trained in relational work (couple and family therapy), I also see clients individually.
I work with various issues, including communication, conflict, intimacy, anxiety, depression, and chronic illness. I have advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy, an empirically validated model that has been shown to create lasting change in couples\' relationships.
Therapy is a journey that takes work and courage. I believe it is an honor and a privilege to walk alongside clients and help to create meaningful changes in their thoughts, feelings, or actions as they examine their lives.
