My Approach to Helping
Making the choice to begin a therapeutic practice is a radical act of self-love and community care. As a therapist, my role is to create a collaborative and affirming space to support you in meeting your goals; approaching our work together with humility and curiosity. My therapeutic style is primarily rooted in psychodynamic and social justice-based frameworks. These frameworks integrate the value of your individual history, emotional processes, and your inherent wholeness and autonomy as a human being. Together, we will explore the challenges you are facing with compassion, courage, humor, and kindness.
My background prior to therapy has been in advocacy work with survivors of intimate partner violence and asylum-seekers and refugees who have been displaced as a result of violence and oppression. In my therapeutic practice, I approach my work through a human rights lens, validating the impact and harm our societal systems have on individual well-being.
Taking part in deep therapeutic work has the power to transform how we see and care for ourselves, move through the world, and engage in relationships with others. Whether you are navigating life transitions, experiencing stress and anxiety, coping with trauma and abuse, or struggling with self-acceptance— you are deserving of a space for healing and care.
