My Approach to Helping

I believe in providing strong and positive support to help people to heal and grow. I believe that it is the client who does the healing and that I am a support, guide, and witness to their own process. It has been my honor to watch many people who have been suffering from the effects of trauma heal, flourish, and begin to live full and happy lives with good treatment.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

I love being a therapist as I am inspired by watching my clients heal and grow. I consider it an honor to be able to witness their transformation.

Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist

I believe that the most important thing in choosing a therapist is to find someone who you connect with. While skills, experience, and therapeutic technique are all important factors, it is truly the therapeutic relationship that allows healing and growth to take place. It is important to feel accepted, cared about, comfortable and safe with your therapist. While this is impossible to judge in an online directory or e-mail exchange, observe how you feel with a therapist in your initial meetings and contacts. There is a fit that happens when people find a therapist that they connect with, which helps to make healing possible. It takes time to build a strong therapeutic relationship, but listen to your instincts when meeting with someone new and ask yourself whether that person feels like someone that you can learn to trust and open up to.
