My Approach to Helping

My primary practice is working with transgender and non-binary adults, providing Gender Affirming support and support with medical transition. I also work with clients to help in other areas, including depression and anxiety, grief and loss, low self-esteem, and issues around sexual orientation, social and financial stress, and oppression. The goal in my work is to help clients identify what would help them feel fulfilled in their lives, work through internal and external obstacles they are experiencing, and take steps towards those goals. I have specific experience working with LGBTQ+ individuals, lawyers, artists, and teachers.

I also work with adult clients experiencing a variety of issues, including depression and anxiety, grief and loss, interpersonal violence, low self-esteem, sexual orientation issues, social and financial stress, and experiences of oppression. The goal in my work is to help clients identify their individual values - anything that will help a client feel a sense of purpose or meaning in their life - work through any obstacles that they are experiencing – both internal and external – and take steps towards those values.

I work from a Feminist Therapy perspective, in a way that seeks to minimize the power imbalance inherent in clinical settings, centers the client’s story in our work, recognizes that the client is the expert on their own life, and helps the client identify their own sources of power. I use a combination of Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, and Existential Therapy.

I currently have remote sessions available Mondays through Saturdays.

My Guiding Ethical Principles

I am guided by Feminist Therapy principles, including collaboration, authenticity, inclusion, personal power, anti-racism, and social justice. For more about Feminist Therapy - https:www.goodtherapy.orglearn-about-therapytypesfeminist-therapy
