I provide a warm nurturing accepting environment. I am verbally responsive and interactive.. I AT FIRST arrive at an accurate diagnosis of the patient and then come up with an individualized treatment plan tailored to that patients needs. If medication is INDICATED..I stabilize THAT first, and then do exploratory individual therapy on a regular basis, along with group therapy and couples therapy as well IF either seems indicated.I have a warm friendly interactive style which makes many people comfortable..

I am a board-certified psychiatrist, I am an out-of-network provider for most plans, and do not submit bills BUT am willing to coordinate with fee structures of MOST insurance plans.. Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

i have learned from a complete psychoanalysis to dig in to the "DEPTHS" and make the past pain smaller quiter and less-frequent

Theoretical Influences that Guide My Work

modern psychodynamic work, existential issues, and interpersonal group therapy principles

What I Say to People Concerned about the Therapy Process

develop a "LIFE_LONG" perspective on the pain and to work it through slowly and over time so it is not overwhelming.I can prescribe medication in the short or long run if needed

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

therapy provides empowerment and diminishes weakness as one is empowered in the present rather than burdened by the past

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

total alliance allows a sense of "being together" in the struggle to get well

My View on the Nature of 'Disorders'

some are biological, some are genetic, somecome from family of origin issues and some come from peer group difficulties along the road of life

The Duration and Frequency of Therapy

i see patients at least once/week,sometimes do individual and group work simultaneously. Both the patient AND the therapist generally have a MUTUAL sense as to when therapy is completed enough to terminate and try a "trial of life"

What Makes up a Problem?
