What's My Approach to Therapy?

Over the past 10 years, I have used my clinical training to help individuals, couples, and families untangle the scary, messy, and upsetting parts of their lives. I enjoy empowering individuals to heal from a trauma-informed lens and learn healthy strategies for engaging in relationships with self and others. As an EMDR trained clinician I utilize this approach to assist clients in processing and heal emotional distress associated with traumatic experiences. EMDR utilizes the engagement in bilateral stimulation and particular focus on specific experiences which has been known to engage the brain's healing mechanisms. EMDR has been found to be helpful for individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, PTSD, and developmental traumas. I am currently accepting telehealth-only clients for individuals who reside in the states of California, the District of Columbia, and Maryland. You are welcome to email or call me to schedule your free 15-minute consultation to discuss current needs and explore if therapy with my practice is a good fit.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

During our initial sessions, we will delve deeper into the present concerns and collaborate a plan for addressing them in a way that considers where you are now. Most clients see a gradual reduce of symptoms within the first month and sustained improvement thereafter.

How Psychotherapy Can Help

Within the safety of the therapeutic environment, I listen deeply and gain awareness of the emotions and experiences that may be causing internal and or external tension. Honoring this valuable information we collaboratively work towards processing these thoughts, emotions, experiences with the use of the therapeutic strategies and techniques to move you towards a life that is healthy, authentic, and whole.

I believe strongly that we all have the potential to live fulfilling lives and have positive relationships.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

As a Psychotherapist, I have the privilege of listening deeply to people and coming to know and understand the deepest parts of who they are. At times when we show up in the world we show little of our real selves. I understand why we all tend to hide parts of ourselves; I get the opportunity to witness and support each individual's progression towards full expression of their true essence.

Assisting people in their growth and working with them to move out of hurt, fear, loneliness and discomfort into greater vitality, purpose and authenticity is an honor.
