Hello my name is Gordon and in my practice I focus on working with individuals, couples and families. I take a holistic approach to my work to try to understand the numerous aspects of who you are. The goal of my work is to assist you in developing the skills and strengths that you already possess as well as identifying areas of potential growth. From there we will build upon these unique strengths in order to overcome challenges and develop new strengths for the growth areas that we discover. In each session I strive for movement with my clients. Through small and great strides we move closer to reaching our full potential.

More Info About My Practice

In my practice I commit to my client's wellness completely. This commitment is one that I take very seriously. To me this work is more than just treatment plans and techniques cut and pasted from text books. I have worked with children and adolescents struggling at home and at school due to social and emotional challenges. Additionally I have worked with couples (with and without children) to increase the quality of their lives through the development of their relational skills. With each one of them the greatest growth came from within and my role was to help them sift through the entanglements which had built up over time. If you do decide that you would like to work with me then I can guarantee that you will have my full attention and energy in each and every session.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I am honored to have been able to work with both typically developing and special needs children for nearly a decade. From working with children with Autism to my work in the foster and adoption community I have seen the unique challenges that children face. Today I continue this work through helping children from various backgrounds develop their social skills. By blending social and emotional therapeutic practices I am able to provide highly customized treatment with the children I work with.

Additionally I have found that working with parents on their own relationship has been vital to the successful development of the children I work with. The earlier I am able to work with a couple in the life-cycle of their relationship the better prepared they will be to face the stressors associated with long-term relationships, marriage, and having children that are typically developing or have special needs. Whether you are a new couple looking to take the next step, a couple preparing for your first child, or your family is growing I am here to help.

Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist

Looking for the right therapist can be a difficult task and a deeply personal one. It is important to find a therapist that you are comfortable with and that you can envision yourself working with. Good therapists will work with you and allow you the ability to guide each session. It is always important to remember that regardless of who you choose, each session is your personal time to use in the most productive way you can.

Cost also plays a factor into deciding which therapist you would like to see. The search for a therapist should be guided by investing in your personal health and well-being. Through our work you can move closer to reaching your full potential and move your life in the direction you'd like it to go. Currently my rate is $85 per clinical hour of an individual; $100 per clinical hour for couples; and $120 for a ninety minute family session. At this time I am unable to accept insurance.
