Renton is a city in King County, Washington. It covers 23 square miles. The area was first inhabited by the Duwamish people. The city of Renton is named after industrial pioneer William Renton.

Renton has a population of 101,000 people. The population grew by 10% from 2010 to 2017. Roughly 87% of the people in Renton are United States citizens (compared to 93% of people nationwide). 

The racial composition of Renton is 46% white, 23% Asian, 12% Hispanic, and 10% black. Over 28% of people in Renton were born in a foreign country. Thirty-six percent of residents have a native language that is not English. Renton is home to 8,200 Spanish speakers, 4,400 Vietnamese speakers, and 3,200 Chinese speakers.

Mental Health in Renton

The Behavioral Health and Recovery Division of the King County Department of Community and Human Services provides treatment for mental health concerns among county residents.
