My Approach to Helping

As a counselor, my goal is to help you tap into your strengths and resilience when faced with life’s unexpected circumstances. These circumstances can leave you struggling with anxiety, depression or a lost sense of yourself. It can be difficult to process what you’ve been through, understand where you are now, and find the courage to move on. I integrate therapeutic techniques from different approaches, primarily, Cognitive-Behavioral, Strength-Based, and Person-Centered. Counseling provides a space to openly talk with someone outside of your everyday life and sort through unresolved issues. I will listen attentively, offer direct insight when needed, and help you discover the opportunities for positive growth that can come from facing your most difficult challenges.

More Info About My Practice

I have experience in working with cancer caregivers and cancer survivors to address the emotional side of the cancer experience. Caregivers and survivors experience feelings of isolation, anger, guilt, sadness, and often struggle with transitioning to the "new normal." My work with caregivers and survivors focuses on the importance of resilience, self-care, and advocacy.
