I believe that you are the expert on yourself, my job as your therapist is to aid you in becoming the person that you desire to be. I work with individuals primarily from what is known as Person Centered (or Client Centered) Therapy point of view. This means that the relationship that we build during your therapy sessions is an important part of how your treatment progresses.

The primary component of this theory is "unconditional positive regard" which means that I don't approve or disapprove of my clients and/or their behaviors. Rather, I meet you where you currently are and work with you to resolve the issues that are important to you. I generally don't begin a session with an agenda, rather I let you, as the expert, set the agenda for each session.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I am a passionate advocate for members of the LGBTQIA community and particularly enjoy working with individuals within this community. Our work together could cover such topics as coming out, relationship issues, self-acceptance, or even how your family of origin dynamics may change when you choose to come out.

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?

Sometimes it's hard to ask for help, especially if you aren't sure that your problem is big enough to need therapy. A few signs that could indicate you might benefit from therapy are:

Feeling unhappy for no reason ~ Not being satisfied with your life ~ Having trouble making decisions ~ Having trouble setting or reaching goals ~ Being tired for no reason ~ Feeling hopeless ~ Changes in sleeping or eating ~ Acting in ways that you don't like ~ Acting in ways that get you in trouble ~ Problems with alcohol or drugs ~ Relationship problems ~ Having trouble at work ~ Thinking about death a lot or thinking of hurting yourself
