Nerd-adjacent is reasonably accurate as a description for me for much of my life. I love learning about how things and people work and I find great kinship with people who code, build , engineer, analyze and create things. I relish opportunities to bring order to the apparent chaos of emotions and relationships. Formerly awkward and shy, now I lead people in quests to unpack their emotional pasts and build better futures based on tested theories and sound practices.

I have a passion for using stories and metaphors to bring simplicity to complicated ideas. People are generally surprised to find out how much we can get done in each session if they want to ; we can go as slowly or as quickly as feels comfortable.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

I like helping people find a way to feel more alive and invigorated than ever before. I feel a great sense of accomplishment when they show the signs of having a better handle on their own past, present, and future possibilities.
We work through the history, the pain, blocks, assumptions, disappointments, and get to feeling truly alive and joyful.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

Few of us find any shame in hiring a professional to fix an appliance, repair a roof, remodel a house, or negotiate contracts. Most of us do not have the tools to deal with everything by ourselves. We rely on people in our community. People who have moved away from their support, have "burned bridges" with people, or are introverted can be particularly vulnerable just due to isolation from a supportive group. Also, people who have chronic issues sometimes wear out their friends' good will. Also, the people in your community may not have access to some of the best advice and research available. A good therapist may help you learn how to get more out of your life.
