I enjoy assisting people with finding a new perspective, adapting their personal strengths, or learning a new tool to overcome their personal or relationship concerns so they can continue with their journey in happiness. I enter each session excited to work with you to find the techniques that work best by completing exercises in session and out of session. My therapy style is eclectic, to mix and match different approaches, that can be customized to each situation. But I find a solution-focused model keeps sessions on track to your intended goal and often allows for swifter completion of therapy.

Providing assistance with managing depression and anxiety symptoms, anger and low self-esteem through behavioral techniques for management of symptoms and educational assignments that assist in long term change. Assisting couples with finding new communication styles, learning problem solving techniques and fostering connection to overcome difficulties. Assisting interested and existing ethical non-monogamist couples with navigating non-monogamy. Providing non-religious premarital counseling. Assisting trauma survivors with managing and processing their trauma symptoms with compassion, non-judegement and trauma informed education. I am currently working towards AASECT certification as a sex therapist and am interested in providing assistance to individual's and couples seeking sexual and gender identity growth.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

I love assisting people with surpassing a barrier they couldn't previously. When they reach that moment of "Ah ha" and you see the stress, sadness or pain melt away and leave a sense of peace. That's what makes everything worth it.

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?

Everyone in life needs a different set of eyes to help them through a problem from time to time. Usually we turn to our support network. There are times in our life when our support network may be incapable of helping for a multitude of reasons and that's when a trained therapist is a great option. We are objective, competent, compassionate and completely confidential. Something you can't always say about every member of your support network, right?

The Duration and Frequency of Therapy

It is my belief that therapy is complete when you determine you have reached your goal. I can make suggestions but in the end I am here to assist you in feeling you are ready to take the next step on your journey. Each person has a different experience in therapy and therefore can spend a different length of time. I enter sessions under the belief that if we all put our best efforts in, the goals are stated clearly and are succinct, it is possible to complete therapy in 8-12 sessions or less. In general I'll meet with you once a week or at minimum every other week.
