My Approach to Helping
What I Do
As a psychotherapist, I will work with you to identify the obstacles you would like to understand, improve and overcome. When you develop an understanding of your mental patterns, you will gain the insights and skills to overcome current and future obstacles. My psychotherapeutic approach pays special attention to your culture of origin, current culture, environment and personal needs.
My Background
As an immigrant and Psychotherapist living and working in New York for almost three decades, I understand culture plays a significant role in how we experience and ultimately resolve emotional challenges. I have enjoyed working with a very internationally diverse group of clients from different socio- economic backgrounds, professional experiences and different sexual orientations. Although I am a trained and Certified Psychoanalyst, I am committed to continuing education and new and emerging therapeutic methods. I have extensive experience working with those who are not living in their native culture such as expats or refugees, both domestically and internationally. I have maintained a private practice in New York City for over eighteen years, working with individual, couples, families and groups. Services can also be provided via email, telephone and VOIP (Skype, Facetime).
