My Approach to Helping
I believe deeply that nurturing safety through non-judgement, honesty, and transparency in the therapeutic relationship creates space for the authentic self to do the hard work of therapy. I work through the lens of humanism, taking a person-centered, relationship-forward approach. I believe genuine human connection is central to our healing and growth. I believe in the tenets of radical acceptance and unconditional positive regard: my role is not judge and jury, but supporter and advocate.
I am trained in a variety of modalities, including DBT, CBT, ACT, and EMDR. I continue to strive to remain up-to-date on new and emerging science in the treatment of trauma and other mental health diagnoses.
Your messiness, grief, tears, sadness, loneliness, chaos, realness, curse words, anger, and shame (and everything in between) are welcome here. You're standing at a crossroads. I would be honored to walk with you as you choose your road to wellness.
