My Approach to Helping
Katherine Crespo is an MHC-LP with a passion for helping individuals reach their fullest potential. Katherine believes that everyone has the tools and capacity to achieve a more prosperous and fulfilling life, one they truly deserve. Katherine aims to create a safe and non-judgmental environment where her client’s feel supported in embarking on their collaborative therapeutic journey.
Katherine believes that every individual is unique in their own way and requires a variation of therapeutic modalities that will help clients achieve their personal goals. Her theoretical orientation is a consolidation of Psychodynamic, Person-Centered, CBT, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, and Solution-focused psychotherapy. She uses a calm, empathic, judgment-free and interactive approach, while empowering clients at their levels of readiness to break away from habitual patterns in their lives that contribute to their emotional and behavioral difficulties.
Katherine has experience working with various populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. Katherine’s previous work involved individual, family, and couples’ counseling dealing with anxiety, depression, psychotic disorders, mood disorders, personality disorders trauma, anger-management, work-related stress, and substance abuse with a focus on eating disorders and marital/couple’s issues. Katherine has worked with clients to help facilitate awareness and insight into their thinking patterns and how an alter in perspectives can foster positive change.
Katherine Crespo earned her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from CUNY Queens College.
