My Approach to Helping
In short, I help people who feel stuck. I collaborate with patients who care greatly about the work they do but struggle to complete tasks, driven but blocked by depression, anxiety, or perfectionism. I assist in improving coping with work stress as well as academic challenges, processing life experiences, and reducing distress. I help people address the problems head on in their lives as well as explore the impact those challenges have had on them – the source and the solutions.
I primarily use CBT to direct patients towards strategizing for success, establishing structure in their daily lives, and instituting lifelong change. I am directive, focused, and may assign tasks outside of sessions. I am additionally trained in mindfulness, trauma counseling, and emphasize the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
