My Approach to Helping
I believe it takes courage and commitment to decide to pursue therapy, and I believe that clients who have chosen to begin therapy deserve to feel better then they are feeling. I work with adults and children and use a variety of therapeutic models that include, but are not limited to CBT, family systems approach, and mindfulness to help clients identify and achieve their goals. I offer a supportive and comfortable environment to help clients feel safe to begin working on their issues.
More Info About My Practice
I do not participate with insurance companies. I provide clients with a super-bill that clients can submit to their insurance for reimbursement.
What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
I love many things about being a therapist, but the thing I love most is having the opportunity to help clients discover their own inner strengths. I believe that empowering clients and helping them build their own toolbox of strategies helps them through the therapeutic process and provides them lifelong skills to help them manage the challenges they face throughout life.
What I Say to People Concerned about the Therapy Process
I believe it is important to be where the client is. A client may come to therapy with a painful experience or may discover through the therapeutic work painful feelings. I believe it is my role to help the client address these painful experiences at a pace they are comfortable with. Some clients may move faster than others but it is my job to listen to the client, assess how they are doing through the process and adjust the therapy as needed. I offer suggestions, therapeutic homework, and strategies to help the client address their painful feelings as well as providing tools to help the client manage their responses to the feelings, for example, deep breathing or guided imagery.
