My Approach to Helping
William draws on his extensive experience of over thirty-five years of clinical social work practice in providing effective psychotherapy services with each client. He approaches every individual as a unique person with their own inimitable life story, set of circumstances and challenges. William believes that the key to begin successful therapy is to work to understand a person’s unique strengths and challenges in their own life setting. The client must feel that they are completely understood in order to feel safe and begin the therapeutic work. William strongly believes that you must “start where the client is”.
William has experience providing individual, couples, family and group psychotherapy in both inpatient and outpatient behavioral health setting. He has provided therapeutic services for a wide range of adults and children with diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
William has been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Oriented and Strategic Brief Therapy, Rational Emotive Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. While, William has many established therapeutic intervention competencies to draw on, he believes that there are infinite paths to help an individual achieve their personal goals.
