My passion in life is helping people. This is the person I have been since I can remember. I was able to empathize with people's problems and all I wanted to do was help them get better. Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

I find that even in today's day and age there is still a stigma with therapy. It can be because of culture, how you were raised, society or how you view yourself. I have many client's tell me that they are the strong ones and asking for help or talking about your problems means you are weak. Coming to therapy and working on your issues is one of the bravest steps you could ever take. Pretending like everything is okay and continuing to go on autopilot is easy. Many people are comfortable and don't want to make changes even though they are unhappy. Going to therapy and basically looking in the mirror at your life is hard and challenging. Deciding that you want to be happy and working through tough issues to get there isn't easy. I highly respect anyone who chooses to sit and open up about their life sometimes with fear of being judged (that's not something we do). The light at the end of the tunnel is worth it.
