My Approach to Helping
I work with individuals, couples and families. My specialties include trauma recovery, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, phobias, addictions & compulsions, life transitions and caregiver support. Through my own humility as a human being I recognize that there is no "one-way," so we will find yours.
Asking for help is not easy, and it does not mean that you are weak. Therapy is a relationship. Through our relationship, you will learn what trust means, and what being heard feels like. When in therapy with me, there is no judgement. We explore your values so that we can understand the guilt and shame you may have swallowed. Together, we will uncover the reasons and issues that have hurt you in the past, and find new roads to a healthier life.
When working with a couple, I focus on healing through empathy. I know this is difficult when you are facing many life struggles such as depression, addictions, affairs, grief, anxiety, and misaligned values. It is an honor to hold your vulnerability with you. Through the vulnerability that comes up in therapy, healing is possible to an enormous degree.
