Sometimes the stress of day-to-day life or the memories of past experiences can get in our way. We want to move forward, closer to achieving our goals and aspirations, but we feel blocked and maybe even unsure how to get what we want. Put plainly, sometimes we feel "stuck". And, this stuck feeling can lead to painful symptoms, including anxiety, depression, and even physical pain. But, no one has to feel this way. You deserve to live the life you want. I work collaboratively with my clients to help them move through periods of challenge and difficulty. In a safe and healing environment, we gently explore past and and present experiences. We work together to resolve past issues, break unwanted patterns, and ultimately life more joyfully in the present. I also provide my clients with concrete skills to help them cope with and reduce painful emotional and physical symptoms.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I specialize in helping clients who are coping with the painful effects of stress and trauma, including those suffering with anxiety, depression, as well as chronic pain and other physical conditions associated with emotional difficulties.

Any event or experience that impacts our ability to feel safe and connected is a trauma. Generally, our body's nervous system has a natural way of responding to and coping with traumatic experiences. However sometimes, for a variety of reasons, that natural response system gets hindered. As a result, we begin to develop symptoms, both emotional and physical.

To help clients struggling with these symptoms, I incorporate techniques from the Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM) into my therapy. TRM is a mind-body approach that addresses the biological effects of stressful and traumatic experiences and helps clients restore balance to their body's nervous system. Additionally, I am trained in numerous other therapeutic approaches, such as mindfulness and psychodynamic therapy, to help my clients heal and grow.
