I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the states of California, Florida and New York and the founder of My Therapy Corner, a practice for individuals and couples. Additionally, I am a Certified EMDR trauma therapist, a Consultant in training (providing consultation to therapists who want to become certified in EMDR), and a Gottman Method Couples Therapist. I also specialize in working with anxiety and addiction. My team of therapists is highly trained and works from the same relational and trauma-informed perspective. I am aware of the complex impact of trauma (any perceived trauma, no matter how big or small) on an individual, and my approach integrates this knowledge into every aspect of treatment. While I give clients coping skills using a variety of therapeutic modalities, the goal is always to get to the core of the problem. People don’t want band-aids, they want to heal and be who they were always meant to be. So my trauma-informed approach in therapy attends to the underlying trauma from any cause. This can apply to anyone. It’s not just for people with severe traumas such as surviving wars, sexual abuse, assaults, and natural disasters. It applies to others with attachment wounds, emotional distress, depression, addictions, anxiety, creative blocks, feeling stuck in their life, overcoming heartbreak, negative relationship patterns, or any other kind of hurt. I utilize research-based techniques and interventions during my work with Couples. You will get lots of feedback that you will be able to use in between sessions to start the path toward improving your union. I have additional training in working with couples in recoveryaddiction, and couples who newly became parents. My therapeutic style is warm and supportive.
