My Approach to Helping
Has a life challenge left you feeling overwhelmed, in pain, or unsure of your next step? Are you suffering alone while you see your peers moving forward in their careers and relationships? Are you feeling lost, alone or left behind? If so, I'd like to help.
Ironically, it's during times of personal challenge that one is afforded the greatest opportunity for accelerated growth, transformation and healing.
As a therapist, I help people address the obstacles that prevent them from engaging their lives, relationships and careers more fully. I work with men and women on a wide variety of emotional and relationship concerns, including:
Recovering from depression
Coping with anxiety or fears
Navigating major life transitions
Healing from trauma, abuse or neglect
Grieving the loss of a loved one, job or relationship
Developing a healthy, loving relationship with your body
Getting out of isolation and overcoming loneliness
Confronting addictive behaviors and/or codependence
Setting limits at work to create more time for yourself and your loved ones
Shifting painful patterns of relating to yourself and the world
Your own issues or goals for therapy may vary. Whatever your struggle, I look forward to the opportunity to discuss your concerns and how I may be of help.
Take that first step by calling my confidential voicemail at: (415) 292-5888 or email me to set up a free initial telephone consultation. I look forward to hearing from you.

How Psychotherapy Can Help
People come to therapy for a variety of reasons. If there is a part of yourself that you find hard to accept, this may have you waging a war against yourself and feeling exhausted by the battle. Together we can shed light on these divided factions, ultimately creating a more cohesive sense of self. By integrating these parts of yourself, you can begin to defuse the war and feel more at peace. As your therapist, I'll ask you questions that invite you to explore your own emotional and psychic terrain. I can guide you through territory which may have been too scary or painful to tackle on your own. By examining current patterns of behavior and reflecting on your past, we can reveal unconsciously held beliefs that may be holding you back. Insight leads to awareness, which provides the foundation for lasting change.
Theoretical Influences that Guide My Work
My therapeutic orientation is grounded in an appreciation of the integral relationship between the mind, body, spirit and emotions. I am passionate about my work, which has been influenced by Buddhist philosophy, mindfulness meditation and transpersonal philosophies. Through the use of visualization, metaphor and the exploration of dream imagery, I help people to shed light on unconscious material, frame their experiences in new ways, and arrive at all together new meanings.
