My Approach to Helping

I am here to help you work through the challenges you've been trying to resolve alone.

I specialize in empowering my clients to develop intimate relationships with their innermost selves. I've found that life challenges and psychological blocks can become wonderful opportunities to know ourselves more deeply and to come into a more intimate and meaningful engagement with our lives and with others. This inner knowing and relatedness, however, is something we must cultivate and learn how to develop. That is my job and my passion.

My style is active and anchored in the realities of everyday life. I work holistically, seeking always to remain attentive to how an individual is registering experience in body, mind, and soul. Please contact me to see how I may be of help.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

Areas of focus include:

Relationships/Family & Sexuality, Including LGBT Concerns: Together we can explore your relationship patterns based on your formative relationships and cultural conditioning, and help you discover new ways to establish caring, supportive, nourishing relationships in the present that encourage your wholeness and allow you to thrive. We can also better understand your own unique needs and desires around family and belonging. I can support you in exploring your sexuality more fully, and to become aware of what you deeply desire.

Self-Experience: A sense of self that rests primarily on external and unsustainable sources of worth is fragile and vulnerable to continuous "ups and downs." I can help you to locate and focus on inner and realistic measures of self-value that lead to authentic confidence and decision-making.

Career & Mid-Life Transitions: Have you devoted yourself completely to your work or job and feel burned out? I can help you better understand what you're longing to devote yourself to, and discover your own ways to do so that are sustainable and enlivening.

Mood Disturbances: Anxiety, panic, chronic irritability and depression can be frightening and overwhelming. I can help you to develop new, manageable, and effective ways to understand and relate to the most challenging aspects of your emotional experience.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy

To facilitate a process that allows people to know themselves more deeply and fully so that they can live their lives with a real sense of connection, inspiration, and greater ease.
