My Approach to Helping
My psychotherapy practice focuses on helping Asian-American adults who may be feeling confused, trapped, anxious, or unhappy. You're tired of the same old thoughts, the same disappointments, and the same misery. I know you want change, but going through change alone can be frustrating, scary, or both. Like many Asian-Americans, you may be new to therapy and wonder if it's right for you. Psychotherapy can help you understand how you came to be where you are today and help you make the changes you want in your life.
Therapy with me is like a having an honest and open conversation with someone you trust. It is a unique experience where the focus is all about your life. I provide a nonjudgmental, supportive space where you can be the "real" you so we can work on your real issues together.
My areas of focus include:
- Self-esteem and perfectionism
- Multicultural and generational conflicts
- Issues with guilt, anger, resentment, shame, anxiety, and depression
- Relationship and family problems
- Patterns of codependency
- Grief, loss, and trauma
I believe the connection you have with your therapist is a crucial factor for a successful therapeutic experience. Contact me to discuss your specific needs and to see if we're a good match.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
My area of special focus is working with Asian-American adults who feel like they're going through a mid-life crisis. I help people who feel torn between what they "should" do and what they want to do, people who are trying to balance their Asian and American values, or those who just plain think "my life wasn't supposed to be like this..." and don't know what to do.
