My Approach to Helping

Do you find yourself repeating the same unhelpful patterns of behavior or relationships? Are you looking for a meaningful change? In my clinical work, I address a variety of issues, including the ones related to identity and self-esteem, coping with major life transitions, processing significant trauma, and maladaptive relationship patterns. Often, people are unaware of the long-standing self-defeating patterns in their views of the world, their perceptions of themselves, and their ways of relating to others. Out of conscious awareness, these patterns prevent them from achieving their full potential and living happy, fulfilling lives. It is my job to help you gain awareness of these unhelpful patterns, and, through the medium of a therapeutic relationship that is rooted in empathy, respect, and genuine interest, to work together to bring about change.

The Duration and Frequency of Therapy

If we decide that we are a good match, we will meet once a week for a 45-minute session, unless we agree that seeing each other more often will be beneficial. How long we work together is completely up to you. Most people choose to stay in therapy until they have developed a deeper understanding of their own inner life, are able to recognize and stop their maladaptive patterns of behavior, and are better equipped to deal with life stressors and find solutions to their problems.
