My Approach to Helping
Dr. Sylvia Gindy is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who specializes in treating anxiety disorders including Panic, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Social Anxiety, and more. Over her years of clinical experience, she has become skilled in a number of treatment modalities including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Evidenced-Based Psychotherapies for individuals who have experienced traumatic events.
As an adjunct to specializing in Anxiety disorders, Dr. Gindy is an expert at treating people with problematic sleep. She utilizes evidence-based strategies that are supported by science, to help individuals improve their sleep over the course of several sessions.
"Every major physiological system in your body and every operation of the mind is incredibly reliant on sleep. These symptoms are significantly enhanced when you are receiving good sleep, and markedly impaired when you don’t. Stress and anxiety can contribute to sleep problems, and worsen existing ones. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, I work with my clients to find out exactly what factors are interfering with their sleep, and introduce practical tools that allow them to excel in various aspects of their lives."
