My Approach to Helping

My approach to the therapeutic space is a warm and welcoming environment for persons to examine previous life experiences and ways they may impact current life functioning.

I am compassionate, genuine, and honest while at the same time offering areas for challenge and growth. I will partner with you to examine current patterns, symptoms, and problems which are contributing to distress and work with you to develop a holistic plan for healing.

More Info About My Practice

I am not paneled with any insurance companies, but I provide a monthly statement that can be used to submit insurance claims for out-of-network benefits.

I accept payment in the form of cash, check or credit card.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I enjoy working with persons exploring or living in the polyamorous or ethically non monogamous and or kink lifestyle. For persons exploring non monogamy I provide a safe space to explore uncertainties, insecurities, and fears while also celebrating many of the joys this lifestyle brings.

I also have a special interest in working with persons who have experienced trauma, may be experiencing dissociation, and family of origin issues. For those whom this applies, I work with persons to prepare them for the work of trauma healing. I utilize evidence based practices such as EMDR and Ego State Therapy to effectively bring relief from potential years of suffering following traumatic events.

What I Usually Need to Know to Help

As your therapist it is helpful for us to have a set of goals and objectives you would like to accomplish during our time together. If this is something you are still trying to figure out or decipher I understand and can relate to the position of knowing you need support but not quite knowing what you need in order to feel better. In these cases I will work with you to triage your current concerns and potential distressing symptoms and develop a holistic plan to address your needs.

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

I have done and continue to do work in the therapeutic space to heal previous wounds. My experiences of loss, joy, grief, anxiety and depression all inform my work and allow me to relate to my patients in ways I believe are invaluable.
