My Approach to Helping

Welcome and thank you for taking the first step in your mental health and wellness journey!

Working with me is a collaborative experience. Processing life's challenges together, we will uncover and unpack the internal and external challenges you have faced. I like to use a variety of therapeutic techniques, including CBT, DBT, and ACT, depending on the needs of each client.

My primary goal as a therapist is to offer my clients safety and support. I also want to break the cycle of shame in many minority communities surrounding mental health struggles. It is okay to need help and ask for help. This does not make you weak. In fact, asking for help is one of the bravest, strongest things a person can do.

If you are a member of a minority community and have struggled to connect with other therapists because they don’t share your worldview, I hope I can help. I want minorities to have the same representation and connection as other groups.

More Info About My Practice

I am an active member of the Asian American community. As a child, I felt I didn't have much support and it felt taboo to ask for help. These past experiences have led me to pursue a career in counseling and encouraged me to be more involved in my community. I continue to raise awareness about mental health support and try to normalize healthy help-seeking behaviors in my community. Being close to my community is important to me and provides me with more insights into what challenges currently need the most attention and support. I've received training and became certified in gambling and addictions in the Asian American community. I continue to connect with gambling advocacy groups and work to provide more information to individuals and loved ones.
