My Approach to Therapy

I help individuals process change - wanted or unwanted. Losses are important to recognize and acknowledge their importance. Some losses we experienced earlier this week, others happened to us while we were quite young. I'll educate to acknowledge the presence of emotions, monitor emotions, and the ability to listen to their important messages that will lead to growth and behavior that is beneficial! I've found I'm a great fit for the 20-something to 40-something man who isn't easily aware of his emotions and therefore may be experiencing shortcomings (or roadblocks) in his life. Clients who work in the Arts, Education, Finance, and Entrepreneurs find my style complimentary to their own strengths and perspectives.

My Practice & Services

I offer tele-health therapy for individuals and couples in Pennsylvania, New York and Florida. I offer in-person sessions in Chadds Ford, PA. I also offer in-person sessions for clients in the New York City area 4 times a year alongside virtual sessions.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I'm skilled at helping people process through their emotions and learn from them. I believe our emotions are there for a reason. Together, we'll name them and notice them without judgment. From this place we can then listen to the important message they are trying to give us. We can't stop emotions by sheer willpower, but emotions can transform to other feelings after we accept their presence and then create the way for growth and freedom.

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?

Go ahead and listen to your concerns about therapy while they don't have to keep you from what you ultimately want. Many of us have conflicting feeling often! "I want to purchase a new car. I want to have financial stability." I tell my clients that every great therapist isn't a great therapist for everyone. Don't feel you're stuck with the first therapist you see. If you're not comfortable with the dynamic between the two of you, it doesn't mean therapy isn't the route to go, but it may mean this therapist isn't a great fit.

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

Though each of us have our own story and experiences, unlike anyone else, I am aware of universal emotions that connect us to each other. As you process your journey with me and seek to learn from it, know that I'll also be able to relate to feelings of fear, rejection, hope, loneliness, joy, anticipation, sadness, etc. You will experience a safe place here, I will not criticize your experience, nor how you've been attempting to deal with them.

Groups I Work With

Many of clients expect a lot of themselves-often expecting too much. They can struggle to see their perspective and wishes as valid in relationships- whether with family or romantic relationships. I work well with men who are not yet in touch with their feelings and would like to grow in that area. My role is to help you have a healthy relationship with your thoughts and emotions so you stop judging yourself harshly and begin to view yourself fairly. I'm also a good fit for those who are in the Arts, Type A, and the "nice guy" who struggles to know how to offer his voice without offending.
