My Approach to Helping

Living with chronic illness and pain can be really tough, and talking to someone who understands can help you move forward. When you feel like nobody knows what you’re going through, sharing your feelings with someone who truly gets it can make all the difference. I’m a seasoned therapist who lives with chronic illness; I can relate to what you’re going through and help you cope with stress, isolation, and overwhelm. I’ll help you make sense of your experiences and feel more optimistic about the future. You'll learn new ways to handle the hard days, and I’ll also help you celebrate the good days.

Along with traditional talk therapy, I use mindfulness, breathwork, and creativity to support you. I'll develop a special, individualized care plan for you that focuses on your strengths. In addition to giving you a safe, compassionate space where you can share your feelings, I'll also help you create a self care routine to do between sessions.

If you’re feeling lonely or struggling with hard feelings, please email me. I know how hard it is to deal with chronic illness, and I want to share every tool I have to help you feel better. We’ll begin with a free 20 minute chat, and even if we decide not to work together, I’ll send you off with at least one activity to help you reduce stress.

Had a Negative Therapy Experience?

Clients often tell me that they've tried therapy before, and got tired of "just talking" and "not knowing what to say." I really understand that frustration, and am glad that my approach is a little different. In addition to traditional talk therapy, I have lots of tools to share with you, like mindfulness meditation, breath work, and expressive arts. I'll help you build a meaningful self care routine, so that you can also take action during the week, and work toward feeling better.

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

When it comes to living with chronic illness and pain, I really get it. Each day, I work to accept my own health challenges, and I know how hard it can be to accept limitations. Over the past 20 years, I've dedicated myself toward wellness and healing, and I know about a lot of complementary approaches that can help you, too. When I get to know you and your interests, I'll share the activities that will help you take control and move forward.
